People choose to use tile for many areas of their home or business. Today’s tile is very versatile, and there are many options from which to choose. Tile styles and materials run the gamut from ceramic to natural stone and even vinyl planks that are designed to look like wood. Other types of tile are used on bathroom walls, in shower stalls, or for kitchen backsplashes. The kind of tile that a home or business owner chooses must be able to withstand the abuse it will take, depending on how and where it is used. When a tile installer installs tiles, they must use a type of grout that is designed for the material from which the tiles are made.
Most tiles fall into two broad classifications: ceramic and stone. There are two groups within the ceramic classification. Tiles belonging to that group are divided into two sub-groups: porcelain and non-porcelain. Porcelain tiles are less absorbent, so they are better in bathrooms and kitchens.
Natural stone tiles are made from different combinations of geological materials, and the way they react to different conditions and chemical reactions within the earth. Slate, marble, limestone, and granite are the most common natural stone sources for tile. Marble comes from limestone, and travertine is a type of marble.
There are many types of grout, and each type of grout serves a different purpose. Grout is a necessary part of any tile installation. Grout comes in two forms: cement-based or epoxy. Cement-based grouts are made with cement and water. It can also have added sand. Cement-based grouts are more water-absorbent. Epoxy grout consists of epoxy resins and a hardener. It is very easy to clean, non-absorbent, and stain and mildew resistant.
Our dry cleaning process uses Chem-Dry, which is one of the best methods there is for deep carpet cleaning. This method is based on hot carbonating extraction that produces microscopic bubbles. The bubbles penetrate deep into the carpet fibers to loosen and remove hidden debris, dirt, and dust. An added benefit to this method is the thorough cleaning it does with less water than steam cleaning. When we finish, your carpet is far dryer than it would be with steam cleaning.
Our anti-microbial cleaning involves the application of an anti-microbial agent after deep cleaning your carpet. It is designed to inhibit the growth of mold, mildew, yeast, and other microbes and potential allergens. If you have any allergy or asthma sufferers in your home or business, this extra treatment is worth your consideration.
